聖誕快樂！

我們健康狀況基本上良好。去年十二月醫生在Ardyth的心臟裝置了觀察儀器，為了避免動脈阻塞，之後一切都好。

在西雅圖西郊的新中文教會—恩惠路德教會持續的發展成長；活真理教會現在是由一位恩惠教會即將封牧的弟兄帶領，他四分之三的時間在活真理教會服事，另外四分之一則是在帶領University of Washington附近學生中心中國留學生/交換學者的事工。我們持續幫助這些學生事工—不論是擔任志工或是在財力上提供幫忙。我們今天有幾次短期的度假，兩次與家人一同，一次只有我們兩人。在這聖誕節期，我們特別要記得道成肉與我們立新約的神，相信祂必繼續看守帶領我們生命的路，持續祂對世人的愛。

Christmas greetings from Ardyth and Everett,

We are sending you greetings from Clarksville, Tennessee where we are visiting our daughter, Naomi and her family. Darren and Naomi are working regularly, she managing an Aldi’s store and he as a pressman for a printing firm. Bethany is home for her first furlough after completing basic training in nuclear propulsion. Dirk will graduate from high school in May and is not sure what will be next. Getting here was a bit difficult. We had to change planes in Chicago, but that flight was delayed and then a storm came in. We boarded, the plane was de-iced and got in line, but too much time elapsed before our turn to take off, so we went back for deicing again. Then the flight was canceled, so we spent the night with Del and Betty Anderson- difficulty turned into great pleasure- once we were booked for the next day. That flight required changing in Dallas/Fort Worth. Our flight was late so we missed the flight on to Nashville, but we got on the next flight and arrived fine. It is good to hang loose. Lowell is still downin New Mexico. Dean and Loretta along with Caden (5) are in Puyallup, 50 miles from us. His moving business is still going, having recovered somewhat from the real downturn with the housing crisis, etc. Our health has basically been good. Last December a “Watchman Device” was placed in Ardyth’s heart. That prevents clots from forming during atrial fibrillation which has been of concern to her doctor. All seems well for her now. Everett had to have ventral hernia repair, but is going up gangways to visit seafarers. He is not so fast as 10 years ago, going up 55 high, steep steps.

Everett Grace Chinese Lutheran Church is still growing and is developing a new Chinese Congregation in Sammamish Hills east of Seattle. Living Truth Chinese in Bothell is now being led by a member of Grace who is coming up for ordination. He is working three quarters time at Living Truth and one fourth in our Ministry to Chinese Student sand Scholars (MCSS) at the Lutheran-Episcopal student center near the University of Washington. We are still seeking more support for MCSS, both in volunteers and finances. 

We have enjoyed some short vacations this year, twice with Lars and Georgia Ann (Ardyth’s sister) and one by ourselves which included a visit with Rev. J.B. Brandt who retired from Zion Church in Everett, Everett’s home church many years ago. Ａs we celebrate and worship this Christmas, let us remember how God came in humanflesh to make this new covenant (agreement) with us, that He will watch over us and lead us as we follow in His way of life, the way of love for all mankind that He showed us.
