Dear Shi-Yang

Dear Shi-Yang

How nice to hear from you! I remember you well. This is just a brief email to thank you and the Taiwanese Christian Church Council of North America for the very generous Christmas gift. I haven't completely decided what I will do with it, but will probably use it on a short mid-week break, most likely in Newcastle. It is an interesting place with museums and historic and cultural centers and is set within easy reach of the Northumberland coast and the Border hills, so a variety of trips are possible. People over 60 in England don't have to pay on the buses and this is a great blessing.

An additional attraction is that Alvinza Riddoch (Li Un-Tzu), who used to teach kindergarten teachers at Tainan Theological College is an old friend and has recently moved from the south of England to a very good Methodist home near Newcastle. She is 95 years old now and still very active and bright, but has lost so much of her sight that she is unable to live on her own any more. I saw her a couple of months ago and we talk on the phone quite often. It would be nice to spend a whole day with her.

Please pass on my greetings to the other members of the TCCCNA.With thanks and all good wishes for the New Year

Liz Brown
