親愛的林牧師，平安

非常感謝您的信和慷慨的禮物。我希望你已經收到我的聖誕信。我將會用這筆錢在春天的時候找個地方休息度假。近年來，我發現三四天的假期比長假更輕鬆，所以，我非常感謝你。

我打算在月底訪問Alvinza Riddoch。去年秋天，她病得很重，現在似乎已經慢慢恢復。由於眼盲，行動不便，因此她很難打發日子。她現在99歲，住在衛理公會的養老院，設備很好，坐落在Newcastle北部幾英里。

Dear Lim Bok-su, Peng-an!

Thank you very much for the generous gift and you newsy letter. I hope you received my Christmas letter, too. I shall use the money to take a short break somewhere in the spring. In recent years I have found it good just to get away for three or four days as often as I can rather than just have a couple of longer holidays. So, thank you very much.

I’m planning to visit Alvinza Riddoch later this month. She was very ill in the autumn, but seems to be recovering now. As she is blind and not very mobile it is hard for her to fill her days. She is 99 years old and in a very good Methodist care home several miles north of Newcastle.
