親愛的林先生

我在2011年的聖誕節前幾天收到你的信，帶給我們2012年的祝福和問候，還有最新的消息和200美元的大禮物。它告訴我們來自美麗島的熱情、慷慨和愛心，溫暖了我們的心，也讓我們強烈地感受到您們追求獨立的意志。相信您們當中一定有很多人趕回台灣投下您們的選票。

至於我和我太太，我們把每一天都當作上天的恩賜。我有嚴重的眩暈，需要住院治療，她的充血性心臟衰竭使得我必須扮演照護者的角色。雖然 Rydal Park's 個人看護算是比較大、完善的一區。儘管如此，我還是很困難找到時間繼續到費城的美國長老會檔案館當志工。

最近TCN的英文編輯莉迪亞馬女士與我聯絡，我已同意偶爾為TCN寫稿。在七十年代末期和八十年代早期，我曾負責TCN的英文新聞簡報並負責專欄，就是她現在的工作。

親愛的朋友和在基督裡的兄弟，王南傑牧師和與我以前的明星學生黃伯和牧師博士， 我們很榮幸依然與他們有很好的交往。再一次感謝你們以如此慷慨的方式記念我們。

Dear Mr. Lim
Your welcome letter came a few days before Christmas 2011. It bore not only your greetings and wishes for 2012, along with news and information, but also the large gift of $200.00. we acknowledge all these with thankful hearts. They tell us of your generosity and love and warm our hearts for the "Beautiful Island" and its stalwart, still hoping people for their independence. Perhaps some of you were able to travel back to Taiwan to cast your ballot.

As for Mrs. Gelzer and me, we take each day as a gift of God. A serious case of vertigo, requiring hospitalization, and her tendency for congestive heart failure have made of me, for an important part of my time, a care-giver. Rydal Park's Personal Care section is part of the larger complex, all under 'one" roof.  Still, I find reduced time to continue volunteering at the national archives of the Presbyterian Church(USA), located in the heart of Philadelphia.

Ms. Lydia Ma, English editor of TCN , recently initiated correspondence with me and I have agreed to occasional contributions to the TCN. During the late 1970 and early80s , I was given responsibility to produce an Occasional Bulletin, in English, with articles that appeared in TCN. She is filling that position today.

Friend and brother in Christ， Ong Lam-kiat bok-su and also with my former star student, the Rev. Dr. Huang Pek ho. I am privileged to have such great and personal contacts. Again, we thank you for so kindly ad richly remembering us.
